HVLP Sprayer

From Monkey Wiki, a guide to snowboard construction

A HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray system is great for spraying a variety of finishes. For snowboards, I use a Fuji Q3 Pro HVLP sprayer, shooting System Three WR-LPU Polyurethane Topcoat, in clear satin, cut 20-25% w/ water. This applies a smooth, even coat of finish to the board with minimal mess and cleanup. The gun is easy to use and get familiar with, and the spray pattern is easily adjustable.

See Finishing a wood veneer top sheet for more details about the veneer finishing process.
