| Grand Targhee, 2/24 |
We went to Grand Targhee on Friday, 2/24. We'd never been there before, and it's only about an hour from Jackson Hole, so we decided to give it a shot our last day in town. Grand Targhee is basically on the other side of the mountain range from Jackson Hole, but the terrain is very different. It's a very "open" area, with wide open faces and runs punctuated by small clusters of trees. Unfortunately, it was also extremely wind blown and finding soft stashes on such open faces was tough. We had good visibility, which is good because I can see how it would be really rough here with fog. Zero crowds.
Overall
we had fun at Grand Targhee, though we're not inclined to really plan to
go back anytime soon. It's very mellow and not super challenging. With
Jackson Hole so close by, I'm not sure what the draw to Grand Targhee
is.
On the way to Grand Targhee we drove by a drive-in movie theater. On the way back we had to stop and take some close up pictures. There's something to be said for a potato-themed drive-in movie theater. It's certainly unique! The pictures from the theater are at the bottom of the page.

More Helen...

... and more Helen!

I found my fun zone!

This is the screen for The Spud drive-in movie theater.

Mr. and Mrs. Spud??

Not a phrase you usually see on the way to a ski area!

We think this potato is real...

Cool old truck in front of the theater.
