Baker Creek Chalets is set off the beaten path about 10 min East of Lake Louise, AB on highway 1A. They offer a variety of rooms and cabins, and we stayed in a Loft Chalet which was very nice. The bed was warm and comfortable, the place was a decent size, it was quiet, and it was very clean and well kept. This place is pretty new, perhaps a year and a half old or so.
Helen and I really liked the cabin we stayed in. There was no TV, nor a telephone, and it was very peaceful. The cabin has electric heat, but it also has a great wood stove in the corner that we fired up almost every night. We turned that place into an oven more than once... I had no idea how much heat a wood stove could put out. One evening we decided to make dinner in the cabin, and we made spaghetti. I cooked the sauce on top of the wood stove just for the novelty factor. Worked great!
There is a restaurant at Baker Creek called the Baker Creek Bistro. Wow. The food was amazing. We ate there 3 nights, and each time we loved it. The appetizers, entrees, and deserts were out of this world. Extremely well prepared, with very high quality ingredients, great service, and a relaxing environment. Best of all, it was a 1 min walk from out cabin to the bistro!
