We didn't have the greatest day at Crystal on the 28th. Paul got caught up in some rocks and slid over many of them, tearing up his arm and loosing a ski in the process. We searched for about an hour for the ski before giving up, eating a quick lunch, then heading over to the first aid shack to get him taken care of. (You can see we had our priorities straight!) The ski patrol wrapped up his arm, then gave him a ride down in the sled where more doctors messed with his arm a bit. I think Paul spent much of the evening at the emergency room after we got back and ended up with 7 stitches in his arm and some nice pain killers for souvenirs. We plan to return to search for the ski sometime soon, hopefully with a metal detector given all the new snow...
Video of them taking Paul down in the Sled (6mb)

The day started out bright and fine. Paul was clearly ready to go.

A little bit of wind on the lift ride up, but Paul knew how to bundle up...

The conditions under High Campbell were pretty good. A little wind blown, but lots of fresh.

Paul on his perch, ready to drop

Paul's unfortunate path... these pictures convey neither the steepness of the line, nor the pointy-ness of the rocks. This really was one of the more frightening things I've ever witnessed on snow.

The spot from a distance.

Paul getting bandaged up in the first aid shack mid-mountain.

Getting loaded up for the ride down.

On the way down... I like the snow stuck to his boots.

Still on the way down...

Getting the arm checked out.

Some very nice gashes. Ouch! Feel better soon man!
